This dog flooring features interlocking grids with three quarter inch square openings in it. It is useful for smaller breeds of dogs, and also to use in whelping pens. I like using this type of dog flooring more in cages than in actual kennels, or in pens where you’re not going to be keeping the dogs long term. I always prefer a more solid base in the kennels, something that offers the dogs a fair amount of comfort.
But this certainly does have it’s place. Of course, if you’re going to use it in a whelping pen, you will also need to cover it with something to add more comfort for the female dog. Even tiny little pups should still be able to clamber around on it alright though, so there’s really no hazard or danger to them.
