Kennel Deck, Raised Flooring, One 2′ X 4′ Pcs, 8 Sq Ft.:  I’ve found Kennel Deck to be a great solution for dog kennels and dog pens, particularly to use as outdoor dog kennel flooring. Kennel decking is sanitary, easy to clean, very portable and easy to move around, and it is also comfortable for your dog to sleep or rest on.

This particular version of kennel decking is made from high density plastic, and it is constructed so that it will drain easily and allow all liquids to pass straight through, plus it is very easy to clean and to keep clean and hygienic as well.

The surface is nowhere near as hard as concrete, for example, and it also does much better when exposed to extremes of temperature–not getting too hot during summer, and not holding the cold in like cement does during winter. This dog flooring features interlocking grids with three quarter inch square openings in it. It is useful for smaller breeds of dogs, and also to use in whelping pens. I like using this type of dog flooring more in cages than in actual kennels, or in pens where you’re not going to be keeping the dogs long term. I always prefer a more solid base in the kennels, something that offers the dogs a fair amount of comfort.

But this certainly does have it’s place. Of course, if you’re going to use it in a whelping pen, you will also need to cover it with something to add more comfort for the female dog.  Even tiny little pups should still be able to clamber around on it alright though, so there’s really no hazard or danger to them.

This Rolled Rubber Matting product is made from 100% recycled rubber, and it is used in a variety of applications. This particular matting provides excellent UV protection due to high levels of EPDM in the matting. Naturally, this makes it great for both indoor and outdoor kennel use.

It is particularly useful in a dog kennel as it has anti-slip properties, and it’s also very comfortable for the dogs to lie down on and to play around on, no hard floor or concrete to injure them!   This tough rubber matting holds up really well in kennels and around whelping mothers and young puppies who tend to be quite tough on their surroundings.

Another great thing about this type of kennel flooring is that it is extremely easy to install yourself, it doesn’t need any special tools or equipment to put it down, and it is equally as easy to take up and remove if needed.

Cleaning is a breeze with this thick, sturdy rubber flooring as well. Simply hose it down, or if it’s particularly dirty you can always take a soft scrub brush to it to give it a good cleaning. It holds up well against different cleaning agents as well, and doesn’t get easily damaged from harsh cleansers.

These interlocking grids with 3/4 inch square openings, are useful to use in kennels that house the smaller dog breeds. Not strong enough for really heavy weight dogs, they do just fine for the small to medium sized dogs.

They can also be used to place in whelping pens, though I would suggest if you do that you also cover them with something like the Drymate whelping box liners, which are comfortable for the mother and the puppies, and are comfortable for especially the smaller pups to get around on.

I personally think these do better in kennels or pens that house your dog temporarily. For more permanent use, I believe that the dogs are more comfortable with something a bit more solid underfoot. Still the price and the portability of these do make them an attractive option for your pens.

2′L X 4′W X 2′H, The Kennel Deck is my favorite as far as ideal kennel flooring for your dog’s kennel or pen.  It is comfortable, hygienic and easy to clean and to keep clean.

Another great plus with the kennel deck is the fact that it is lightweight and thus highly portable.  This makes them great to use in a stationary kennel or in a temporary or mobile situation, as you can just pick them up and take them with you.

No need to worry either if your dog is a chewer.  The kennel decking is made from high density plastic, not something that any dog can easily chew through.  It is also strong and can withstand weights of up to 1,000 lbs so you could easily have more than one dog residing in the kennel if necessary without running into any problems due to the size or weight of the dogs.

This particular kennel decking can be trimmed to size  too, so if it is not the perfect fit for your existing kennel it is very easy just to cut it down to the desired size.  Pieces can likewise be attached to one another via clamps to extend the area of the kennel decking.

Ease of cleaning is another reason why many dog owners purchase these kennel deck squares.  The hardy plastic is impervious to animal wastes and strong chemicals such as bleach or other strong cleaning agents do not damage it in any way.

All in all, if you are looking for something lightweight, hardy, easy to clean and hygienic I would highly recommend purchasing this type of kennel decking. (more…)
